Mark, Jeb and I hit the
pond for an hour of fishing. Knowing the fish would be
lethargic, we put the Mega-Strike on the truck's defroster
to soften it up. We figured a liberal coat of fish
stink would get the fish to biting.
Rebel watches as geese take
off from the pond.
I caught two largemouth
bass, both on Senko worms with Mega-Strike.
Both fish were tentative,
and tried to walk away with the bait. Once I saw the
line move across the water, I set the hook.
I caught both fish on steep
slopes, reeling up into the shallows.
Rebel ran to see what the
commotion was in the reeds.
Mark cast to Jeb and hooked
him in the leg as he took the photo.
Spent hibiscus along the
pond shoreline. Winter 'carcass' botany can be quite
beautiful. This is the shortest week of the year, and
next week, day length will be getting longer each day!
We are all ready for
Christmas.
Tonight it's shish-kabobs
and then Christmas Mass at St. Louis Catholic Church in
Clarksville. Tomorrow it's Christmas, visiting, guests
and smoked salmon for dinner.
