FISHING THE WET MEADOWS OF CHARLES COUNTY
Maryland
Old field meadows are beginning to express autumn colors, aspect-dominated
by goldenrod and hyssop-leaved boneset (Eupatorium hyssopifolium)
Some other flowering plants included tick-trefoils, narrow-leaved mountain mint,
bull thistle, pink wild bean, the inflorescence of many types of grass,
sedge and rush, and the following 'fall' plant photos:
 |
Mistflower or Wild Ageratum
(Eupatorium coelestinum)
|
 |
Slender Bush Clover (Lespedeza virginica) |
 |
Meadow Beauty
(Rhexia virginica) |
 |
Blue Curls
(Trichostema dichotomum |

Between two job sites Molly and I took in a few minutes of fishing.
Molly reels in a chain pickerel. We were both using pumpkin-colored senko worms.
Rebel, my Bernese Mountain Dog watches as I wrangle
in a lively little largemouth.
