After
Dinner Fishing Cole's Pond - Clarksville,
MD 8/21/06 Mark Burchick
Dad . . . "the
bass came off
the hook and is
flapping around
in the bushes!"
It was all
plastics, as
we fished
the last two
hours before
sundown.
Submerged,
floating and
emergent
vegetation
was
prolific, so
we had to
resort to
weighted
hooks, and
used YUM
green
pumpkin and
chart buzz
frogs,
Berkley Gulp
wacky
crawlers and
Yamamoto
senko's,
both worm
types being
green
pumpkin with
black flakes
and 5-inches
long.
Mark caught
this lunker
on a YUM
buzz frog
right up on
the bank in
thick
spatterdock.
Jeb pulls
the hook and
models the
fish for the
camera shot,
before
releasing it
back into
the pond.
It was
Mark's
night, he
was the
Bassmaster!
. . . and
again.
I wrestled
this
flapping
rascal, from
alongside a
fallen log,
and could
not see him
at the end
of the
retrieve,
over the
bank of tall
cattail.
