  SUMMER FISHING '07
Here are some great fishing tips, stories, and photos. Covers summer '07. Maryland region and more...

Fishing the Mattawoman
Charles & Prince George's Boundary
Maryland
Mark Burchick

fishing in Maryland Mark and I spent the afternoon on the water, taking in some leisurely fishing.
fishing in Maryland We both caught eight fish each, and Mark's hot lure was the Cavitron Buzzbait, then followed by a chart & white Chatterbait.  Neither of us caught fish on jigs, which was absolutely non-productive.
fishing in Maryland Fresh beaver activity has caused lots of downed timber in this reach of water, and all of the trees were either red maple, and then tulip poplar, further back off the water.
fishing in Maryland Today was a poor hook-set day.  Mark and I both lost a good few fish, probably due to working thru numerous lure types.
fishing in Maryland I caught three fish on this flex-tail, top-water stick bait, made by Terminator.
fishing in Maryland Listening to tunes and soaking up the sun!
fishing in Maryland Senko worms were good but my hot lure of the day was watermelon colored, Sweet Beaver's by Reaction Innovation.
fishing in Maryland I got this fish on a BooYah, all-white colored spinnerbait.
fishing in Maryland We drove by Spiknell's Produce (Old Gunpowder Road, Beltsville) on the way home and purchased corn, picked today from their fields, and some watermelon too.  Spiknell's corn has been available for the last week, and will run thru October.  The first corn of the year is grown using black plastic to 'advance' development to maturity.  It's edifying to see many acres of rotation crops and fields surrounding the produce stand.  It makes you feel closer to the produce.
