Fishing
in the Carolinas - II 1st Week of July

First Week of
July

South
Carolina
Vacation II
Michelle watches
over the making of
lunch.
Redneck Yacht
Club, with Furby
the poodle and
Goofy the golden
retriever/standard
poodle mix,
called a
Golden-Doodle,
which looks and
behaves like a
Portuguese Water
Dog.
Dan and I caught
several fish,
with Dan landing
the bigger ones.
Fishing was
hard, and Kudzu
colored Zoom and
Culprit soft
plastics (worms
and
lizards) worked
the best.
The majority of
the fish came
from the
centerline of
coves where you
can
imagine where
the underwater
creek
channel occurs,
and not from
shoreline
structure.
We used
largemouth bass
fry as catfish
bait.
Danielle,
Amanda, Mark &
April
Jeb (not shown)
caught the
largest catfish.
He set down his
rod on the dock
and the rod took
off, with Jeb
diving for the
rod, and
recovering a
four-pound
catfish in the
process.
April is aghast
as see watches
the catfish
being drilled to
the side of the
shed, capped,
stripped with
pliers and
filleted.
Jeb holds the
fillets as they
are being
processed, and
which were
cooked on the
grill for
breakfast.
Thank you to the
Betz and
Burchick
families for
your gracious,
southern
hospitality!
Myrtle Beach was
great, good
eating, great
fireworks and
lots of fun
things to see
and do. We
even went to the
Bowery!
