Kerr Lake
Henderson, North Carolina
July 4th Weekend - Part II
 |
A flotilla of beer drinking and picnicking. |
 |
Dan plays one-handed catch with Zack. |
 |
It's commonplace for many boaters to claim a
section of beach for the
day and party
the day away playing horseshoes, volleyball, fishing,
barbeque, boating and
socializing.
Sara, Patti, Michelle and Shannon. |
 |
Reminds me of the new Kid Rock music video,
All Summer Long. |
 |
Jeb tries out his new Aviva, remote-controlled
fishing boat.
What a blast! |
 |
We took five stripped bass on Saturday and
another five on Sunday,
trolling deep water.
We used white/chart bucktails with 7-inch chartreuse-colored Culprit plastic
worms. |
 |
Dan got us on fish in deep water off of Red
Point and Satterwhite
Point, more or less
right out in front of the Betz residence.
This is
the first time I've ever
caught freshwater stripped bass.
Fishing these Rockies, is pretty much the
same way as we take them
out of the Chesapeake. |
 |
The Corps Police lead a Parade of Lights with
boats decked out in patriotic
red, white
and blue. A blues band played at Satterwhite Point and then
followed by
fireworks over
the water. With hundreds of boats on the water
near the Park, it was a
beautiful scene. |
Thank you to the Betz family for a wonderful
extended weekend on Kerr Lake.
