NOVEMBER FALL FISHING
|
 |
Jeb and I went out to our local fishing hole and fished from about 10:00 am till
noon. It was in the low 50's, sunny and with a slight breeze. We went thru
several lure types and fishing was down right cold.

We only caught one fish, and pulled him out of deep water using a BooYah Super
Shad spinnerbait. They call it the Super Shad because the lure has four willow
leaf blades and simulates a small school of bait fish.

Jeb poses with the fish before we let him back into the water.

We use willow leaf blades in relatively clear water, run them fairly fast, and
find that silver is generally the better color to use. The willow leaf blade
creates lots of flash.

The Colorado blade creates lots of vibration and is better suited for stained or
muddy water. We run this type of spinnerbait a little slower in the water, so
the fish have time to catch up to the vibration. For whatever reason, gold seems
to be a better color for Colorado blades. When it comes to skirts, we generally
like chartreuse with white, but sometimes some lime and/or orange to better
replicate sunfish and maybe a hint of red for a blood injury. |
