4-H Shotgun
Tournament
PG Trap & Skeet
Range
Our State Shotgun
Match was held today
at the PG Trap &
Skeet Range near
Goddard Space Flight
Center.
Fifty-four 4-H
shooters
participated, coming
from 4-H Shooting
Sports programs in
Carroll, Charles,
Howard, Kent,
Dorchester and
Somerset Counties.
Our shooters
were broken into
age groups of
Junior,
Intermediate and
Senior 4-H'ers,
with all boys
and girls
participating in
Trap and Skeet,
then with the
Intermediate and
Seniors also
doing Sporting
Clays.
The
ranking/scores
of the Howard
County 4-H Gun
Club was as
follows:

A meeting
was held
after the
competition
to debrief
the top 10,
Senior
shooters
regarding
the
National.
In years
past, the
State
Shooting
Sports
program, 4-H
Foundation
and grant
monies have
been able to
pay for
much/all
expenses
related to
sending our
representatives
to the
National.

Gabe!
Benelli
Firearms
supplied
numerous
door
prizes
and
gifts,
then
with medals
and
other
acknowledgements being
awarded
to top
placing
4-H'ers
in
various
events,
cumulative
scores
and
longest
runs.
Peter
and
Tucker
both
scored a
20 in
Trap,
and
Chris
had a
long run
streak,
of not
missing
any
clays.
Mark and
Gabe had
shotgun
malfunctions
during
the
competition
and had
to swap
out
firearms,
midway
thru the
competition.
